LAV takes the safety of our guests, staff and environment seriously.

Safety and Health is core to our business. Operating an accommodation facility in the mining sector, we believe that all injuries are preventable.

In order to achieve this goal, we set clear expectations, responsibilities and accountabilities, constantly promote and improve safe working practices, identify and control workplace hazards, and we commit to safety of each and every person involved in our facility. We also monitor closely our waste management practices and noise levels within our environment.

Simply put, working safely and the safety of our guests is part of everything we do. As part of standard service, we provide a competent Health and Safety Advisor (Cert 4 in safety) on-site and will maintain all relevant training and safety and environmental processes. This position is on a dual reporting line to village management as well as reporting directly to the owners of the business.

This ensures a comprehensive system management and the satisfactory achievement of HSE Objectives and Targets.

• Continual training and evolution of our systems in identifying and reducing risk in all activities.
• Developing and implementing Health, Safety and Environmental standards that exceed minimum statutory standards.
• Investigation of all accidents, incidents and near misses to develop control measures to eliminate primary cause.
• Consultation of staff on all HSE issues.
